CVE-2017-5375 is a memory corruption vulnerability in Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird that lets cyberattackers execute arbitrary code through malicious JavaScript. A specially crafted page or email could corrupt memory in the browser's JavaScript engine, and successful exploitation gave cyberattackers the privileges of the running application. Cyberattackers integrated exploits for the flaw into exploit kits, which put ordinary web browsing at risk until users patched.
