Neshta

ATP Sandbox Adv. HeuristicsAV

Neshta is a file infecting virus from Belarus that has infected Windows systems since 2005 and takes its name from the Belarusian word "nesta," meaning "something." It appends its code to every executable the infected user runs, so each program that launches carries the virus and spreads it through shared files and drives. Although the family is old, its self replication through ordinary software makes cleanup slow, because every infected executable needs remediation.
