Description

Meterpreter is a Metasploit payload that provides extensive post exploitation capabilities on compromised systems. It runs in memory, resists disk based detection, and supports command execution, file transfer, credential harvesting, and pivoting into adjacent networks through its extension system. Penetration testers rely on it daily, and cyberattackers abuse it for the same capabilities, which is why defenders monitor for its distinctive channels and behaviors.
